What to Expect

As part of their spring tour, this experimental sound collective will be in residence at the CCC for three days, during which they will be collaborating with local Asheville area artists in a series of sessions.

Our local special guest collaborators for Thursday 25th are Mark Hosler (Negativland) and Kris Gruda!

AL MARGOLIS [Chester NY]

was an activist in the 1980s American cassette underground through his cassette label

Sound of Pig Music. He co-founded experimental music label Pogus Productions, which

he continues to run. He makes music that has swung between fairly spontaneous studio

constructions and more process-oriented composition.

WALTER WRIGHT [Charlottesville VA]

is an interdisciplinary artist, his practice includes computer programming, music, and

video performance. His focus is on “improvisation as a way of being present in the

world.”

TOM LAW [High Woods NY]

is a composer/improviser from Saugerties NY who performs laptop-based

electroacoustic music. He also plays viola da gamba, and has curated a series of

concerts at Opus 40 sculpture park that ranged from early music to avant pop. A native

South Carolinian, he opened the figmental Conundrum Music Hall in West Columbia in

2011, and closed it in 2015.

CILLA VEE [Asheville NC]

Claire is an international interdisciplinary artist. She is the director of Cilla Vee Life Arts,

a cross-disciplinary arts organization. She holds an MFA in Creative Practice and is the

creator of the Living Art performance pedagogy and practice method.
